International Students Admission procedures

Step 1: Submission of Application for Evaluation
Interested families need to submit the following documents:
- A completed, signed (by parent and student) and dated Application Form.
- Application fee (non-refundable) of $200 CAD made payable to the Ace Acumen Heights by bank draft or cheque. If paying by wire transfer, please add the wire transfer fee of $20.
- A copy of the translated transcripts or school reports from the current year (if applicable) and the last 2-3 years.
- Photocopy of the student's passport or birth certificate as a proof of name and date of birth.
- Photocopy of the Custodianship Declaration for students 18 years of age or over. (If the form does not open in the browser you are using, open it using the Firefox browser, or save the document to your computer and open it using a program such as Adobe Acrobat.)
- Photocopy of the Notarized Parent and Custodian Form.
Once all of the above is submitted to International@aahs.ca a tuition invoice will be issued and sent to the recruiter/student (please add email address on each application).
Once the fee is fully paid, a Letter of Acceptance will be issued and sent to the recruiter/student.
Assessment Test
Once the Visa is approved and a study permit is issued by Immigration Canada, the student must email the arrival date to Canada to International@aahs.ca
An email will be sent to you with the date and time of the Assessment test.
The student must bring the following original documents to the appointment:
- Proof of custodian's status in Canada.
- Original Passport and a valid study permit (we will make a copy and return the original to the student).
- An original Custodianship Declaration.
- An original Notarized Parents and Custodian form.
- The most recent original transcript.
Vaccination information needs to be provided directly to Toronto Public Health. Please see Ontario's Publicly Funded Immunization Schedule or visit City of Toronto for more information.
Once the file is complete, an appointment will be made to visit the academy office for a 3-hour Assessment Test.
This test will determine at what level of English the student will be registered in our schools.
After the Assessment Test, the student will make an appointment with our school to begin our school year.
Step 2: Notification of Acceptance and Fees
- Tuition fee to be made payable to the Ace Acumen Heights by certified cheque, money order or bank draft. For wire transfer information, please contact the international admission officer.
- Official Letter of Acceptance will be issued upon receipt of tuition fee and all required documentation.
- Official Letter of Acceptance and receipt of tuition fee payment can be picked up in person by student/recruiter in a scheduled appointment or it can be mailed to the student/recruiter.
- Once the Official Letter of Acceptance has been received, the custodian or recruiter can apply for a study permit to Canada.
Step 3: Application for Study Permit
- Official Letter of Acceptance from the Ace Acumen Heights and custodianship documents to be submitted to the custodian or recruiter to apply for a study permit to Canadian Embassy or Consulate.
- All other documentation required for approval to be submitted to all the Canadian Embassy or Consulate.
- Notification to the AAH regarding up-to-date status of application can be done by email to International administrative assistants.
Step 4: Pre-Arrival in Canada
- Book flight to Toronto at least 2-3 weeks prior to the start of classes.
- Submit arrival date/flight information to the International administrative assistants as soon as flight is booked.
- Submit all outstanding documents to the International administrative assistants as soon as flight is booked (emailed copies will suffice).
- Purchase mandatory health insurance provided to each student at a cost of approximately $800 CAD for full year program.
Step 5: Arrival in Canada
Arrive in Toronto (scheduled at least 2-3 weeks prior to the start of classes).
Report to the Admissions & Placement Departments at the scheduled AAH Appointment date with the following documents:
- Study Permit (original and valid)
- Passport
- Most recent transcript or report card – translated copy (if not submitted with application)
Upon reporting to the AAH, the following will be provided to the student:
- Registration Package
- Date for the Placement Assessment
- Health Insurance Package (if purchased through our provider)
- Course selection at the assigned school with the guidance counselor appointment with the school.
