My time at Ace Acumen Heights helped me grow in more ways than I expected,” says Kevin, now a Mechanical Engineer at Ebara HG in Mississauga. “It wasn’t just about academics; I developed socially, physically, and mentally.” The supportive environment encouraged Kevin to explore new interests, like participating in the Waterloo Math Contest and the Ontario University Fair. “My teacher pushed me to join the math contest, which really helped me build confidence in my skills,” he recalls. These experiences, combined with classroom learning, set the foundation for his university success and professional journey. “Ace Acumen Heights truly shaped                                                        who I am today.”

“Ace Acumen Heights played a crucial role in shaping my career path,” says Nancy, a Financial Reporting Analyst at CIBC. “The courses helped me discover my interest in business, which led me to pursue a BBA at University of Toronto. Co-op placements, including one at Deloitte, provided essential hands-on experience and networking opportunities. Extracurriculars, like volunteer work and sports, not only helped me build connections but also enhanced my confidence and adaptability as a newcomer. The support from teachers in language skills and academics was invaluable, preparing me for university and beyond. I wouldn’t be where I am                                                          today without those experiences.”

“Studying at Ace Acumen Heights gave me the foundation I needed for university and beyond. The smaller classes and supportive teachers made a big difference,” shares Shirley. She completed grade 12 at Ace Acumen Heights, then pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration and a master’s in accounting and finance at the University of Toronto Scarborough. Now, she’s preparing for the CPA exams while also considering career opportunities in China. “Ace Acumen’s environment, especially the debates in international                                                            business, helped me develop the communication skills I rely on now to present my recommendations with confidence.”

“At Ace Acumen Heights, I faced the challenges of being an international student with little confidence and no connections. However, my teachers, played a crucial role in my growth. Encouraging me to focus on math and physics, saying, ‘Felix, I know you want to take a path into engineering, but right now, you’re not focusing on your academics. This is not enough to prepare you for your university.’ That guidance was invaluable.” Now, Felix is pursuing a Bachelor of Technology, Automotive at McMaster University where he’s                                                             currently on a 12-month paid co-op at an automotive repair shop in Mississauga. He reflects, “Being part of the debate club helped me                                                 gain confidence and improve my English, which is essential in my job today.” Felix emphasizes the importance of asking for help,                                                           stating, “Don’t be afraid to reach out. Everyone here is friendly and ready to support you.”

“My experience at Ace Acumen Heights was so much more than just academics. It was a time when I truly discovered my passion for math and physics—learning through hands-on experiments and lively discussions that made every day exciting. The supportive environment encouraged me to push my limits, and I quickly realized the value of perseverance and teamwork. More than anything, I treasure the lasting friendships I made there.”

Graduating in June 2024, Yanyu was honored to receive a $100,000 scholarship to study Mathematics and Physics at the University                                                      of Toronto.

“My time at Ace Acumen Heights has been both enriching and memorable,” says Junze, now studying Mathematics and Physics at the University of Toronto with a $100,000 scholarship. “The supportive learning environment, dedicated teachers, and diverse extracurricular opportunities helped shape me academically and personally.”

From the start, Junze found a welcoming community that encouraged him to strive for excellence while also developing important life skills. “Thanks to my teachers, I adjusted to school life quickly. Whether I had questions about my studies or daily life, they were                                                            always patient and ready to help, which made a big difference,” he recalls.

                                                Beyond academics, Junze embraced the many opportunities AAH had to offer, including international math competitions.                                                                        “Participating in school activities and math contests broadened my perspective and made my high school experience even more                                                          meaningful,” he says. These experiences, combined with a strong academic foundation, prepared him for university and beyond.

Vicky Yuemeng Mu’s journey from mathematics to interior design was unexpected but rewarding. She initially pursued math at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) but soon realized her true passion lay in interior design. “I wanted to create beautiful spaces while still applying my math skills,” she shared. Reflecting on her time at Ace Acumen Heights (AAH), Vicky credits its supportive environment for helping her succeed. “ The teachers were amazing, especially Mr. Hope, who explained complex math concepts in a way that made sense,” she said. “He also provided one-on-one help after class whenever I needed it.” The competitive academic atmosphere also motivated her. “Being surrounded by high-achieving classmates pushed me to work harder.”

                                                 Outside of academics, Vicky is also an entrepreneur, designing and selling 100% handmade bags. Looking ahead, she’s excited to                                                         blend her math and design skills to create beautiful spaces. “Switching paths was scary, but it was the right decision.”

Zhiqi Zhou’s passion for design led her to pursue Industrial Design at OCAD University, but her journey began at Ace Acumen Heights (AAH). “Before successfully entering OCAD, I attended AAH High School in Canada, an experience that played a crucial role in my development and eventual college application.”

At AAH, Zhiqi took design courses that strengthened her drawing and modeling abilities while emphasizing critical thinking and                                                             innovation. “During this year, I took design-related courses, which gave me a deeper understanding of the core concepts of design                                                         and developed solid skills in drawing and modeling.” She also engaged in clubs, collaborated with diverse peers, and participated in                                                     design competitions. “I actively participated in the school club and communicated with students from different cultural backgrounds,                                                   which broadened my horizon.”

                                                 Looking back, Zhiqi sees AAH as a transformative experience. “I improved my professional skills, cultivated my ability                                                                               to think independently and solve problems, and became more clear about my future direction.” Now at OCAD, she is                                                                                   eager to explore new design possibilities. “The learning experience of AAH enabled me to grow from a student                                                                                           passionate about design to a design novice with professional quality and practical experience.”
